The Community Lottery Program provides municipalities and local authorities with funding to support art, sport and recreation in their communities. Each fiscal year the Community Lottery Program is allocated $410,000. A combination of population and a flat rate sliding scale is used to determine a recipient’s allocation. Yukon healthcare statistics are used to calculate population; these statistics are based on health care registration and are attributed to the appropriate community based on postal codes. The intent of the program is to enable local decision making to meet community needs and create equitable access to lottery revenues for all Yukon people.
