Focus on Faro

The Yukon Lottery Commission distributes revenues earned from the sale of lottery tickets to support volunteer organizations that provide recreation activities in Yukon.
Bi-annual Recreational Project Funding and yearly Community Lottery Funding have provided significant assistance to the community of Faro over the past 20+ years, including support of the following clubs and events:

• The Annual Crane and Sheep Viewing Festival in Faro is one of the many community events that have received assistance from the Community Lottery Funding program. This year’s festival is being held May 9-11 and along with the opportunity to witness the migration of Sandhill Cranes and view the Fannin’s Sheep on the mountain slopes, visitors to this event will have the opportunity to take part in workshops, presentations and tours.

• Operated by the Faro Golf Club, in partnership with the Town of Faro, the Faro Golf Course provides an opportunity for recreational pursuit by Faro residents, Yukoners and visitors from all over the world. Beautifully situated throughout the centre of the Faro Township, this unique course is completely run by volunteers. Along with the provision of summer golf clinics for kids, the Faro Golf Course proudly celebrates their 11th Annual Golf Tournament in July. The Yukon Lottery Commission’s Recreational Project Funding Program has provided major project funding for this organization since 2001.Faro Golf Course

The Yukon Lottery Commission is pleased to be able to assist with many of the events and recreational activities that the citizens of Faro volunteer to undertake each year for the benefit of their community.

Important Information for Lottery Players

Tips on how to protect your play:

• ALWAYS print your name, address and daytime telephone number on the back of your ticket as soon as you receive it. Policy requires that all tickets have a name or signature on the back prior to being validated at retail. It's your ticket! Sign it! Protect it!
• Check your numbers using one of the following:
o Go to www.wclc.com/winning_numbers/
o Ask for a winning numbers list from your retailer
o Use the ticket-checker at retail
o Call the Lotteries Yukon winning numbers line: 667-2417
• When your retailer validates your ticket:
o Ask to see your validation slip
o Confirm that the control numbers match
o If you have a winning ticket worth $1,000 or less, return the validation slip and your ticket for payment by retailer
o If you have a non-winning ticket, keep your validation slip and your ticket
o If you have a dispute or if you have winnings over $1,000, bring your validation slip and ticket to the Lotteries Yukon office at 312 Wood Street or mail them to the address on the back of your ticket
• Ticket paper is thermal sensitive. Do not leave your ticket on your vehicle’s dashboard, on a window ledge, or in any place where it may receive prolonged sunlight as the print on your ticket may disappear!
• All tickets expire. Pay attention to the expiry dates on the back of your tickets to avoid missing out on the collection of your winnings.

Have Fun and Good Luck!!
